Poka Jones Biography:

Poka Jones has something to show the world. I came from humble beginnings where at a young age I was in the system for bad choices and as a man I knew that change was needed says Jones. Poka while incarcerated began writing music and took an interest in artist development. Derrick Newton known in the industry as Poka Jones has traveled and worked in radio as a hype man, promoter and intern under the likes of Atlanta’s own Co Co brother (Corey Condry who is now National Syndicated host of the Voice and BET’s Lift Every Voice) on his show from 6-10 pm.

Poka later moved to Oklahoma where he operated as a radio personality of his own show on Perry Broadcasting k98 jamz as the show Poka’s Palace. You can see Poka spreading his message from dance clubs to major charity events. Poka Jones is no stranger to the industry and his love and development started at a young age. He takes pride in his craft and building relationships around the Globe. “I Make World Music” says Jones. These days, Poka Jones hosts his own live TV show called "Southern Soul Live TV" every Wednesday evening at 5pm est on Amazon TV. I will be one of the few artist that can go in any genre and impact through sound and message.
